Full-time, 12 months fixed-term.
Hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm, 1.30pm - 9.30pm and 9pm - 8am shifts.
The Paediatric Sleep Service at Evelina Children's Hospital is expanding and has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Sleep Technologist. Established three years ago, the small, multi-disciplinary team has helped diagnose sleep disorders in paediatric patients of all ages with a diverse variety of syndromes and disorders. A full range of sleep studies are performed from home oximetry to in-house polysomnography with full EEG montage.
The Paediatric Sleep Service enjoys excellent relationships with the Sleep Disorders Centre and the Neurophysiology Department at St Thomas' Hospital and collaboration with both has enabled the opening of two dedicated, child friendly bedrooms at Evelina Children's Hospital. Once established, trained specialist nurses will monitor the over-night studies however an occasional night-shift will be necessary and up to two late shifts a week. Enhanced payment is available for any unsociable hours worked.
We are looking for a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), with a degree (preferably Clinical Physiology or biological science), or an advanced nursing qualification in a relevant specialty, that has some experience of sleep studies, preferably with a background in either Paediatrics or Neurophysiology.
